Some people take game night a little too far.
Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams find themselves fighting to save a friend’s life in the upcoming dark comedy Game Night — and PEOPLE has the exclusive first look.
In the film, the pair star as Max and Annie, whose weekly couples game night takes a turn when they divert from their standard Pictionary and charades to play a game of murder mystery — complete with fake thugs and faux federal agents. But when someone goes missing, the group must determine if it’s part of the game, or real life.
“In the game, somebody does get kidnapped and what we realize later is that’s it’s actually a real kidnapping by coincidence. It happens on the same night,” Bateman tells PEOPLE. “So there’s some overlap in there in wondering what’s real and what’s part of the game, which lends itself to a little bit of action, some nighttime intrigue, thriller stuff. And of course, you’ve got the comedy all the way through.”
Kyle Chandler, Billy Magnussen, Sharon Horgan, Lamorne Morris and Jesse Plemons also star in the film, which comes from Vacation directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.
Game Night hits theaters March 2, 2018.

In case you missed it, you are still able to (re)watch the livestream. The video can be found after the jump.
Rachel attended the world premiere of “Disobedience” last night during the 2017 Toronto International Film Festival alongside Rachel Weisz, Alessandro Nivola and director Sebastián Lelio. She looks beautiful wearing a mint green Elie Saab gown from their Resort 2018 collection with Louboutin heels. She was styled by Rob Zangardi & Mariel Haenn, hair by Bobby Eliot and her makeup was done by her sister and makeup artist Kayleen McAdams. The first batch with high quality images are added of the arrivals, inside the venue during the Q&A and at the after party. Many thanks again to Sara from The Margot Corner for her donations. Be sure to check back, we expect more additional coverage soon!
