Empire Magazine released the first official production still of Rachel in “Doctor Strange“. Rachel plays Doctor Christine Palmer, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch who stars as Dr. Strange. The magazine will hit newsstands on 29 October in the UK.
There’s a doctor in the new Empire this month. Not your standard physician, mind you – unless your local GP can span dimensions, defy physics and do actual magic, which seems unlikely on the NHS. Empire’s new cover star is, of course, Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange. As a taster for the world-leading coverage in Thursday’s new issue, we can share a fresh look at the Sorcerer Supreme in action with co-star Rachel McAdams.
Strange, of course, is the damaged neurosurgeon who must rebuild his life and learn to tap into higher powers. His spiritual guide, The Ancient One (Tilda Swinton), will be intrumental in that, as the former physician washes up in Tibet’s Lost Horizon-like enclave of Kamar-Taj. But as Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige explains, McAdam’s surgeon Christine Palmer will offer “an anchor to [Strange’s] past life”.
Doctor Strange lands in UK cinemas on 28 October.
Marvel released the first online featurette earlier today for “Doctor Strange“. It includes on-set interviews with Rachel, Benedict Cumberbatch, Mads Mikkelsen, Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor. We have added the featurette in our media archive and the high definition screencaptures in our gallery. Rachel stars in the movie as doctor Christine Palmer, a “a fellow surgeon that has a history with [Doctor] Strange”. The movie will be released on November 4 in the US and October 25 in the UK and Ireland.
With less than 4 months until the release of “Doctor Strange“, the promotion is slowly starting. We will round up the latest news in this post. First of all, director Scott Derrickson (presumably) revealed via his official twitter account that the movie will get a PG-13 rating. His message, which is upside down, says (Via ComicBook): “Rated PG-13 for kaleidoscopic galactic intensity and other dimensional psychotropic violence”. Secondly, Marvel released new production still. Sadly, no new stills of Rachel but you can head over to Disney’s official website to check them out. Thirdly, co-star Benedict Wong confirmed on his official twitter account that he “just wrapped” filming the movie. Director Derrickson confirmed earlier this year that the filming wrapped, so it has been speculated that Wong finished shooting reshoots or additional filming. Furthermore, it has been speculated that Robert Downey Jr. was involved. However, nothing has been confirmed. Finally, we have also made “Doctor Strange” related additions to our site. The video coverage of 2016 Comic-Con has been added to our media archive, including videos of the official Marvel Studios panel. During the panel it was confirmed Rachel is playing Doctor Christine Palmer. Marvel Latin America also released a new photoshoot outtake, presumably an outtake from the movie’s promotional photoshoot, which we added in our gallery. Let’s hope more outtakes will be released soon!
From Marvel comes “Doctor Strange,” the story of world-famous neurosurgeon Dr. Stephen Strange whose life changes forever after a horrific car accident robs him of the use of his hands. When traditional medicine fails him, he is forced to look for healing, and hope, in an unlikely place—a mysterious enclave known as Kamar-Taj. He quickly learns that this is not just a center for healing but also the front line of a battle against unseen dark forces bent on destroying our reality. Before long Strange—armed with newly acquired magical powers—is forced to choose whether to return to his life of fortune and status or leave it all behind to defend the world as the most powerful sorcerer in existence. Join Strange on his dangerous, mystifying, and totally mind-bending journey when Marvel’s “Doctor Strange” opens in U.S. theaters on November 4, 2016.
“Doctor Strange” will be released in the United States on November 4. The movie is expected to be released on October 28 in the UK.
Rachel attended the 8th Annual Dior Operation Smile Luncheon in Los Angeles alongside her sister (and make-up artist) Kayleen McAdams earlier this year. Up until now, we were unable to find official images. Operation Smile is a charity that gives kids cleft-palate surgeries. For more information about the medical charity, be sure to head over to their official website. During the event she also ran into Troy Jensen, a make-up artist who has worked with Rachel. The images have been added in our gallery.

We have a real treat for you today: We have added the DVD screencaptures of Rachel’s first movie in our gallery. Rachel co-starred in the Italian comedy “My Name Tanino“, which was released in 2002. The movie was directed by Paolo Virzì and Rachel co-stars as Sally Garfield alongside Corrado Fortuna. Keep in mind that these screencaptures are NSFW, because they contain some nudity. We also came across new additional on-set images, which we added in our gallery. Fun fact #1: Rachel speaks Italian for most part of the movie, but she had to memorize her lines phonetically because she doesn’t speak Italian. Rachel recalls her experience filming back in 2009 while appearing on The Late Night Show with Jimmy Kimmel. Fun fact #2: Part of the movie was filmed on location in Italy, and Rachel took her first plane flight ever to fly to Italy to film the movie.
Fortuna recently talked about working with Rachel and her Oscar nomination. He says he is not surprised Rachel has received an Oscar nomination because saw she would become a (movie)star fifteen years ago. You can find the entire excerpt after the jump.
Only one more day until the release of “The Little Prince” in the US. The movie will be available for streaming on Netflix US starting tomorrow. The movie will also be released in selected theaters in New York, San Francisco and Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Times and New York Times ran a print advertisement this past weekend and we have added it in our gallery. We also came across a brand new featurette of the movie, released by the Japanese distributor earlier this year and we have added the high definition screencaptures in our gallery.
A little girl lives in a very grown-up world with her mother, who tries to prepare her for it. Her neighbor, the Aviator, introduces the girl to an extraordinary world where anything is possible, the world of the Little Prince.
The movie currently holds a 96% rating at Rotten Tomatoes, which means it’s officially certified Fresh. The Metacritics rating is 71. You can find our review round-up after the jump.
