We would like to remind everyone that “Doctor Strange” is playing in cinemas in the U.K. and Ireland starting today. The movie will also get released in several key majors including the France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Australia and Korea this week. The movie will be released in the United States on November 4th and currently holds a 97% rating at Rotten Tomatoes (based on 37 reviews) and a 75 score at Meta Critics (based on 15 reviews). The visuals and visual effects have received critical acclaim thus far. We made a review round-up in this post. Sadly, critics seem to agree Rachel’s Christine Palmer is being underused.
““Strange” arguably features the most talented Marvel cast to date with acclaimed actors such as Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Mads Mikkelsen bringing the origin of the Sorcerer Supreme to the big screen. It goes without saying that McAdams will never get the credit she deserves for transforming the barely sketched out role of Strange’s former medical colleague Christine Palmer into a captivating three-dimensional character that feels like an integral part of the storyline even when she isn’t.”

Audible has announced a new slate of upcoming audiobook they will release, all performed by actors and other artists and Rachel is among them. Rachel has voiced the upcoming audiobook of Lucy Maud Montgomery’s “Anne of Green Gables“. The audiobook will be released on November 22nd and you can pre-order it already on Amazon.com.
With all of the pluck and charm of its eponymous young hero, Rachel McAdams (The Notebook, Spotlight, Midnight in Paris) delivers a spectacular reading of Montgomery’s beloved bildungsroman. In moments both funny and bittersweet, McAdams’ voice is imbued with the spark that has made Anne a much-loved symbol of individualism and cheer for over a century. A story of “kindred spirits”, McAdams’ touching and heart-felt narration proves she is just that – bonded on a deep level – to this shimmering classic.
When aging brother and sister, Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, decide to adopt an orphan boy to help with chores around their farm, Green Gables on Prince Edward Island, neither are prepared for the feisty and imaginative redheaded girl that is mistakenly brought to them instead. Nor are they prepared for the way in which she will change their lives. Through a series of hilarious misadventures, Anne’s uncompromising spirit makes her striking presence in the close-knit village, bringing new friendships, first crushes, and, for her foster parents, a love and openness unimaginable before her arrival
Fun fact: Rachel has named the television series adaption of “Anne of Green Gables” as her inspiration to act. She told Hello! Canada earlier this year: “For me it [film/series that inspired her to act] was called Anne of Green Gables that I watched when I was young — about 150 times! It was just a really great performance.” She also told Marie Claire that the series was one of the films/series she use to watch growing up with her family.
Screen Daily is reporting that Rachel is attached to star alongside Rachel Weisz in the upcoming adaption of “Disobedience“. Filming is expected to start this winter. Fun fact: Rachel and Rachel Weisz both worked on Terrence Malick’s “To The Wonder“. However, Weisz’s scenes didn’t make the final cut.
Spotlight star attached to New York-set drama from Element Pictures and Braven Films.
Spotlight star Rachel McAdams is attached to star alongside Rachel Weisz in Chilean director Sebastián Lelio’s (Gloria) Disobedience. The film is an adaptation of author Naomi Alderman’s novel of the same name.
As well as starring in the film, Oscar-winner Weisz is also set to produce alongside Room producer Ed Guiney of Dublin-based Element Pictures and Spanish producer Frida Torresblanco (Pan’s Labyrinth) of New York-based Braven Films.
Room and Carol financiers Film4 are backing the project. Lelio has co-written the script with British dramatist and screenwriter Rebecca Lenkiewicz, who collaborated with Polish film-maker Pawel Pawlikowski on the screenplay of Oscar-winner Ida. A London shoot is planned for this winter.
Alderman’s novel revolves around Ronit, the estranged daughter of a rabbi, who returns from New York to the Orthodox Jewish neighbourhood she grew up in North London, following her father’s death. Her arrival causes upheaval in the quiet community.
McAdams recently shot Marvel fantasy Doctor Strange. Weisz recently wrapped production on Fox Searchlight title My Cousin Rachel opposite Sam Claflin and also has the James Marsh drama The Mercy due for release next year.
Variety also confirms the report, and is reporting the movie is expected to start first quarter of 2017 and also reports that Weisz is expected to play Ronit, while Rachel is expected to play Esti. You can find their story after the jump.
